My consulting restaurant @ensue_sz latest event , second round of “Eat Give Revive” , which is joining forces with top Indian chefs from across Asia , to raise funds for India!
Lending a helping hand to support their country, the line-up will include four of Asia’s best Indian chefs : @chef_manav_tuli , @arorgarima , @prateeksadhu and @gaggan_anand . Together with Ensue Executive chef Christopher Kostow, they will create a special ’10-hands’ collaboration feast inspired by the culinary diversity of India for one night only.
With travel restrictions still in place, each chef will share two of their signature recipes, which will be sent over and recreated by Head chef Miles Pundasack-Poe and his team at Ensue in Shenzhen.
All proceeds from the dinner event will be donated to ‘Action Against Hunger’ towards relief efforts in India.

I'm curious whether Japanese curry restaurant will be able to be popular in India.

For this episode, we went down to Machan’s Kitchen at Little India to devour a $100 Indian Curry Platter! Machan’s Kitchen serves traditional South Indian cuisine - ranging from curries to authentic Indian desserts - allowing you to taste the whole of Southern India conveniently in the cosily decorated restaurant.
We lavishly plated over 20 dishes onto giant banana leaves, forming a tantalising albeit messy array on the table. The food generally had the base flavours of South Indian cuisine, spicy, heavily flavoured with Indian spices and rich and hearty. The dishes that really caught my attention would be the Chicken 65, the Mutton Curry and the paratha.
The Chicken 65 was tender and spicy but with a pleasant acidic zing from the lemon juice added that cut through the heat and elevated the strong spice blend used on the chicken. The mutton curry was similarly spiced and spicy, but with an element of a deep meaty flavour from the long cooking process to cook the mutton. The mutton was melt-in-your-mouth tender. The paratha was fluffy, with each bite packed with the rich buttery flavour from the ghee used in the dough. It went exceptionally well with all the side dishes given.
Unfortunately, I was unable to request for less chilli in the dishes, so each dish was actually overwhelming spicy for my relatively weak chilli palate. For those who enjoy spicy food, eating here would be a treat, but it became rather painful for me towards to end. This would be a great place to share food with friends or family, especially if you are looking for authentic South Indian cuisine with a focus on Indian curries. Do give Machan’s Kitchen a try for a fantastic Indian Curry Feast!

Due to travel restrictions, we could not fly home to Sabah for Dad’s 4th Year Death Anniversary prayers, so we decided to pay homage to the old man by taking a trip down to “Passage Thru’ India” - a favourite restaurant of his that recently has gone through a refurbishment.
Passage Thru’ India has won awards for its thematic decor as well as its delicious and authentic recipes from different parts of India.
They take pride in ensuring the dishes are as original to the recipe as possible, even flying the spices over from India itself, or making them on their own.
We were extremely lucky to meet Chef Gaya Jo, the Head Chef and daughter of the founder. I was feeling a little star-struck, (as I follow her instagram recipes, so seeing her in person was really something special), and it was really nice to have her introduce the restaurant’s star dishes personally to us, and to explain what they were one-by one .
Kakak and I could hardly recognise the place since our last visit there, and we find out why in this vlog.
I highly recommend coming to eat and dine here. There's plenty to see, and lots to eat. Just come with an empty stomach ... and oh! A fully charged smartphone to learn new things and to capture special moments!
